Mary Crockett Dead after Tyler Car Accident on Highway 31

 
TYLER, TX (January 16, 2024) — One person identified as 55-year-old Mary Crockett, of Tyler, died in a two-car crash on Tuesday, January 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash took place on Highway 31 East at County Road 2212 at about 5:50 p.m.
 
Texas DPS said Crockett drove north on County Road 2212. Then she tried to turn west on Highway 31. When coming onto the highway, Crockett’s vehicle crashed with another car.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Crockett dead at the scene, DPS said. Reports said she wore a seat belt.
 
There were four people in the other vehicle. Official reports describe them as a 40-year-old woman, a 20-year-old woman, a 12-year-old boy, and a 1-year-old girl. Paramedics transported all four to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
All four injured also wore seat belts during the crash.
 
Authorities said the road conditions were clear and dry during the incident. The posted speed limit in the vicinity is 60 mph.
 
Officials continue to investigate the crash. There is no additional information available.
