Martin Flores Injured in Mesa Car Accident
MESA, WA (January 30, 2024) — A man identified as 49-year-old Martin Flores, of Basin City, and four teens were injured in a crash on Tuesday, January 23.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies said the two-car accident took place at the intersection of Russell Road and Glade North Road at about 3:45 p.m.
Reports said a car with four teens traveled on Russell Road. Then the driver missed the stop sign at Glade North Road. After that, a pickup driven by Flores crashed into the car and caused it to roll.
Witnesses said the impact ejected two of the teens from the back of the car.
Paramedics transported Flores and all four teens to local hospitals.
Flores has been medically cleared. However, the teens remain in the hospital with serious yet not life-threatening. Three of the teens underwent surgery since the accident.
The driver of the car has been unconscious since the collision.
Investigators said there was a dense fog advisory on Tuesday. However, they have not been able to determine how much of a role the fog contributed to the incident.
Deputies continue to investigate the collision.
