Five Vehicles Involved in Fatal Phoenix Car Crash; Martha Inzunza Identified

 
PHOENIX, AZ (June 12, 2023) – The Phoenix Fire Department identified 68-year-old Martha Alicia Cervantes Inzunza who died in a multi-vehicle crash on 67th Avenue on June 3.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Camelback Road around 12:45 PM. Based on a report, one vehicle driving northbound near the intersection attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control.
 
Subsequently, the car crashed into two other vehicles which were also driving northbound. Two of the vehicles then crossed into southbound traffic and collided with two vehicles driving southbound. Inzunza was a passenger in one of the southbound vehicles.
 
As a result, the victim suffered severe injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported her to the hospital with eight adults and a teen. She later died due to her critical condition.
 
Officials believed impairment and speed were a factor in the crash.
 
As of now, an investigation is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
