Mariah Martinez Fatally Hit in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident
SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 1, 2024) — An elderly woman, 67-year-old Mariah Martinez, died in a pedestrian accident on Thursday, September 12.
The San Antonio Police said the accident occurred on the 500 block of Babcock Road near McNeel Road.
According to the San Antonio Police, a pickup truck hit Martinez while she tried to cross Babcock Road.
The driver of the truck, a 57-year-old man, instantly got out of his vehicle and went to check on Martinez. Then another passing vehicle struck him and did not stop to help him.
First responders arrived and said she died as a result of the injuries she sustained in the accident.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the truck driver to the hospital.
Authorities said that when they find the driver of the second vehicle, they will charge the driver with Collision Involving Death.
