Maria Nava Identified in Fatal Tire Blowout Crash on Highway 281 at Los Venados Drive in Edinburg

 
EDINBURG, TX (July 1, 2024) – Officials identified 20-year-old Maria Lizbeth Nava of San Carlos who died in a crash on Highway 281 on June 6.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Los Venados Drive around 9:50 AM. Based on a report, the victim was an occupant of a silver Dodge Ram traveling northbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle suffered a tire blowout and veered off the roadway. It then went into a ditch and rolled over several times before coming to a complete stop.
 
As a result, Nava suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
DPS said two other occupants suffered injuries in the crash.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
