Manuel Ortiz Sustained Injuries in Phoenix Hit-and-Run on 75th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road

 
PHOENIX, AZ (September 3, 2024) — A Phoenix man, Manuel Ortiz, sustained injuries after a hit-and-run on Sunday, August 26.
 
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the crash took place on 75th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road at about 10:30 am.
 
Ortiz said he was crossing the street on his electric scooter on 75th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. Then a vehicle struck him and fled.
 
Due to the incident, Ortiz sustained injuries including road rash and a swollen palm. In addition, he said the crash aggravated a pre-existing back condition.
 
A Good Samaritan treated Ortiz’s wounds before first responders arrived.
 
Ortiz said he did not see the person behind the vehicle. However, he recalled the vehicle as a White Cadillac with non-tinted windows and a light or tan interior. The vehicle has an Arizona license plate and a yellow cover on the license plate.
 
Phoenix Police Department handles the ongoing investigation of the crash. They ask the public for help to identify the hit-and-run driver and vehicle.
