Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (December 20, 2022) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that a 69-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on Las Vegas Boulevard on December 16.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the collision happened at West Charleston just before 5:00 PM. Based on a report, the man in an electric wheelchair was crossing the intersection in an unmarked implied crosswalk at the time of the crash.
 
At that time, a Hyundai Santa Fe struck his wheelchair, throwing him into the roadway.
 
As a result, the victim suffered severe injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported him to University Medical Center’s trauma unit, where he later died. Officials did not yet release his name, pending next of kin notification.
 
According to Nevada law, an unmarked implied crosswalk is the same as a marked crosswalk.
 
At this point, the investigation is still ongoing. In addition, no other details are available at this time.
