Man in Wheelchair Struck, Killed in Phoenix Accident on Central Avenue

 
PHOENIX, AZ (November 20, 2024) – The Phoenix Police Department confirmed that a man in a wheelchair died in an accident on Central Avenue on November 9.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Southern Avenue around 6:20 PM. Based on a report, the man was crossing Southern Avenue at the time of the crash.
 
He was mid-block when a vehicle headed west on the roadway hit him.
 
As a result, the man suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to the hospital, where he later died. Authorities did not release his identity, pending kin notification.
 
The driver involved in the crash remained on the scene and did not show signs of impairment.
