Man Dies After Being Hit in Oxnard Pedestrian Crash on Fifth Street

 
OXNARD, CA (February 21, 2025) – A man died following a pedestrian crash on Fifth Street early Sunday morning, February 16.

The fatal incident occurred near Rose Avenue, according to the Oxnard Police Department which received a report at around 5:00 a.m.

Officials stated that a man had been walking outside of a marked crosswalk when a Honda Pilot, driven by a 29-year-old Oxnard resident, heading east on Fifth Street slammed into him.

The force of impact inflicted fatal injuries to the stricken pedestrian, who died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the motorist involved did not leave the collision site, deciding to cooperate with law enforcement.

Authorities determined that impairment and speeding did not appear as factors in the accident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
