Suspected DUI Driver Involved in Fatal Bus Stop Accident in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (October 25, 2022) – A suspected DUI driver struck and killed a man in a bus stop accident on Airline Drive on October 21.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Tidwell Road.
 
Based on a report, the man was standing at the bus stop at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a pickup truck lost control, went off the roadway and up on the sidewalk and hit the man and the METRO bus stop.
 
As a result, Houston Police Department officers said the man died at the scene. Officers did not yet release the man’s identity pending kin notification.
 
In addition, the accident severely damaged the bus shelter.
 
Police suspected the driver of the vehicle to be intoxicated. As of now, an investigation is ongoing.
