Suspected DUI Driver Involved in Pedestrian Accident on Garnet Avenue in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 3, 2022) – A 21-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident in the 1100 block of Garnet Avenue on October 30.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Dawes Street at about 8:15 PM.
Based on a report, the pedestrian was walking northbound across Garnet at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, the San Diego Police Department said a black 2022 Harley Davidson Street Glide traveling on the eastbound lane struck him.
As a result, the victim had life-threatening injuries. Subsequently, emergency crews transported him to UC San Diego Medical Center for treatment. The 30-year-old male motorcyclist was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.
Police consider alcohol to be a factor in the collision.
At this point, the CHP continues to investigate the case.
