Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on South Fort Hood Street in Killeen

 
KILLEEN, TX (October 4, 2022) – Police confirmed that a man died in a pedestrian accident in the 3100 block of South Fort Hood Street on October 2.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 10:22 PM.
 
Based on a report, police officers located the victim unconscious and lying in the roadway. Prior to that, police said the pedestrian was crossing the Fort Hood Street from east to west at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a greyish or black SUV-type vehicle struck the victim and left the scene afterwards. A second vehicle traveling behind the SUV subsequently struck the pedestrian. However, the second vehicle stayed at the scene.
 
As a result, officials pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Officials withheld the name of the victim, pending kin notification.
 
Police traffic investigators are handling the incident. At this time no further information is available.
