MASON COUNTY, WA (October 5, 2022) – Police confirmed the death of a man in a pedestrian accident on Highway 3 on October 2.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Bayshore. Based on a report, the victim was walking in and out of the road near milepost 8 prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, WSP received a call that he jumped from the shoulder and into the road as a car drove by. At that point, the car hit him.
 
As a result, the pedestrian died at the scene. Officials did not yet release his name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
 
As of now, it is still unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident. In addition, an investigation is ongoing.
