Benjamin Sanchez IV Dies in Belton Pedestrian Accident on Lake Road

 
BELTON, TX (October 5, 2022) – Police identified 30-year-old Benjamin Charles Sanchez IV of Killeen as the victim who died after getting struck by a vehicle on Lake Road on October 2.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 12:40 AM on Lake Road (FM 439), 3 miles west of Belton.
 
Based on a report, the victim was walking westbound in the eastbound traffic lane prior to the crash. As he tried to cross the road, a 2012 Volkswagen Beetle struck him.
 
As a result, Sanchez died in the incident. Officials immediately notified his next of kin.
His next of kin have since been notified.
 
The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old man from Belton, cooperated with the officers at the scene.
 
As of now, police traffic investigators are handling the incident.
