Man Fatally Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Durango Drive near Sunset Road

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 3, 2024) — A 20-year-old man died in a motorcycle accident on Durango Drive on Tuesday, December 17.
 
According to Las Vegas Metro Police Department, the incident involving a motorcycle and a Jeep occurred at about 6:30 a.m. on Durango Drive near Sunset Road
 
LVMPD said the driver in the Jeep traveled northbound on Durango Drive. Then he made a turn onto eastbound Sunset Road.
 
Officers said that the driver of the Jeep had a flashing yellow turn arrow. Then the collision happened when the motorcycle crashed into the right side of the Jeep.
 
Medical personnel pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. They only identified him as a 20-year-old man.
 
The driver of the Jeep stayed at the scene and did not display any signs of impairment.
 
Officials closed the intersection of Durango Drive and Sunset Road, as well as all travel lanes on Durango Drive from the 215 Freeway. Police urged motorists to seek an alternate route.
 
The incident marked the 153rd traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction this year.
