School Bus Involved in Fatal Seminole Accident on Highway 385

 
SEMINOLE, TX (September 4, 2024) – Officials confirmed that a 65-year-old man from Seminole died in a school bus accident on Highway 385 on August 15.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at CR 320 at approximately 8:56 PM. Based on a report, the victim was driving a 2005 GMC Yukon eastbound on CR 320 prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, 72-year-old Eugene Reed was driving a 2005 VanHool charter bus northbound on the same road. Due to unknown reasons, the victim failed to yield while he turned onto the highway. This action caused him to collide with the bus.
 
The victim was not wearing a seatbelt. As a result, he suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not release his name, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Reed was transporting 25 Seminole High School students returning from a school athletic event. They were not hurt in the crash.
