Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted in Fatal Kent Pedestrian Accident
KENT, WA (March 8, 2023) – Kent Police confirmed that a man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Central Avenue on February 28.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Kent Memorial Park around 9:49 PM.
Based on a report, an officer patrolling near the park found two people standing in the roadway. When the officer made a contact, he saw one man with injuries on the ground. A witness said a car hit the victim and the driver left the scene.
Police said the officer performed life-saving efforts on the injured man until medics arrived but the man died. Officers did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
As of now, officers ask anyone who may know information about the car and driver that left the scene or witnessed the hit-and-run to call the Kent Police Department’s tip line at 253-856-5808 or send an email to [email protected]. In addition, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
