Man Fatally Injured in Phoenix Hit-and-Run on 60th Street and McDowell Road

 
PHOENIX, AZ (May 22, 2024) — A man suffered fatal injuries in a hit-and-run on 60th Street on Saturday, May 11.
 
According to the Phoenix police, the incident took place near 60th Street and McDowell Road shortly after 1:00 a.m.
 
Detectives said a driver moving westbound on McDowell struck a person walking near 60th Street and McDowell Road. Witnesses then told police the driver fled without stopping, leaving the victim lying in the middle of the road.
 
According to a report, witnesses said the second driver also struck the victim. After that, the second driver stopped at the scene and called for help.
 
The victim sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. His identity was not immediately released.
 
As of writing, authorities have not yet released suspect or vehicle information on the first vehicle.
