DUI Driver Involved in Wapato Car Accident on Highway 97
WAPATO, WA (May 30, 2023) – Police confirmed that one person suffered injuries in a DUI accident on Highway 97 on May 24.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the 58-year-old man was driving southbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, he drove past the traffic signal and hit a construction truck pulling a trailer.
As a result, the man suffered injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to Multicare Yakima Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Officials charged him with driving under the influence and failure to obey the traffic signal.
