Fatal Car Crash on Fir Street in Mount Vernon

 
MOUNT VERNON, WA (May 30, 2023) – Police confirmed the death of a 19-year-old woman after a T-bone car crash on East Fir Street on May 21.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at North 30th Street. Based on a report, the victim was a passenger in a Hyundai traveling eastbound on Fir Street prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a 23-year-old Mount Vernon man was driving a Ford Mustang. Due to unknown reasons, the man ran a stop sign and struck the Hyundai.
 
As a result, the victim suffered severe injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release her name, pending kin notification.
 
Emergency crews transported the drivers of both vehicles to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
