COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (September 23, 2024) – The Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed that one person sustained injuries in a bicycle accident on Powers Boulevard on September 9.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident happened at Airport Road shortly before 3:00 PM. Based on a report, the victim was on a bicycle trying to cross the street at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck the victim.
 
As a result, the cyclist suffered serious injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to the hospital in a life-threatening condition.
 
The crash shut down lanes on southbound Powers for a few hours.
 
Police do not suspect alcohol or speeding on the part of the driver.
