Fatal Pedestrian Accident on South Durango Drive in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV (November 13, 2024) — One person died in a pedestrian accident on South Durango Drive on Sunday, November 3.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the accident occurred at about 8:07 p.m. on South Durango Drive south of Blue Diamond Road.
LVMPD said a 2012 Toyota Corolla traveled south on Durango Drive. Then a 28-year-old man started crossing Durango on foot outside of a marked crosswalk.
Police said the Toyota struck the pedestrian just south of Blue Diamond Road.
Paramedics arrived and then transported the man to University Medical Center’s Trauma Center where medical officers pronounced him dead. His identity is not immediately available pending notification of loved ones.
The driver of the Toyota stayed at the scene and did not display any signs of impairment.
The LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section handles the ongoing investigation of the accident.
The fatal accident marked the 130th traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year.
