Man Dead in Chandler Car Accident on 10 Freeway near Loop 202 Santan Freeway

 
CHANDLER, AZ (December 12, 2024) — One person died in a car accident on the 10 Freeway on Monday, December 2.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the accident happened at about 12:45 a.m. on the westbound 10 Freeway ramp to Loop 202 Santan Freeway.
 
The incident happened when the driver of a passenger vehicle reportedly went out of his vehicle while still partially in the traffic lane. Then a passing Ford F-150 pickup truck hit the man.
 
DPS said paramedics brought the victim to a hospital where he died. They only identified him as a man in his late 30s.
 
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and administered CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived.
 
Officers closed the ramp, which provides access to both eastbound and westbound Loop 202, during the preliminary investigation. The roadway has since reopened.
