Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 249 in Montgomery County

 
MAGNOLIA, TX (December 12, 2022) – Troopers confirmed that a 53-year-old man and his pit bull died in a head-on crash on Highway 249 on December 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at FM 1488 around 5:45 PM. Based on a report, a Dodge pickup truck ran off the road and crashed through a wire barrier between the northbound and southbound lanes of the highway.
 
Subsequently, it struck a Nissan van head-on. The Dodge pickup also struck a Chevrolet pickup that was exiting the highway.
 
As a result, the Montgomery County Police confirmed the death of the van driver and his dog. Officials did not yet release the man’s identity.
 
The driver of the Dodge pickup was transported to a nearby hospital in critical but stable condition. The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were not hurt.
 
Troopers as well as the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the crash. At this point, no other details are available.
