Fatal Rear-End Crash on Highway 165 and American Avenue

 
HILMAR, CA (December 13, 2022) – A 28-year-old man died after his vehicle was rear-ended by a tow truck on Highway 165 and American Avenue on Monday afternoon, December 5.

Preliminary investigation by the authorities reported that the man was waiting to make a left turn when the tow truck struck his vehicle from behind. The impact caused the car to hit a big rig that was on the opposite side of the road.

The driver of the car was rushed to the hospital but died later, police confirmed.

Both drivers of the tow truck and big rig did not sustain any injuries from the accident.

In the meantime, clearing operations were conducted at the intersection because of the molasses that spilled from the truck.
