Two Dead in San Antonio Rollover Crash on Applewhite Road

 
SAN ANTONIO, TX (September 16, 2024) — Two people died in a rollover accident on Applewhite Road on Saturday, September 7.
 
According to the San Antonio police, the accident occurred at about 2:00 a.m. in the 12200 block of Applewhite Road.
 
San Antonio police said a white Cadillac Escalade with four people inside moved at a high rate of speed. It traveled southbound on South Zarzamora Street where the street curves onto Applewhite Road.
 
After that, the Escalade went off the road and into a dirt lot. Then the vehicle tried to re-enter the road at speed. While doing so, the vehicle crashed into a concrete drainage ditch. The Escalade subsequently flipped over several times before it came to rest in a tall brush of grass.
 
Police said the force of the incident ejected two of the four occupants from the vehicle. Paramedics pronounced them dead at the scene. SAPD said they were a man and a woman in their 20s. However, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released their identity.
 
Meanwhile, first responders brought the other two occupants of the vehicle to a local hospital in critical condition. Their identity is also not immediately available.
 
SAPD said they will continue to investigate the incident.
