3 Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 93 in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (April 2, 2024) — 29-year-old Malia Hoenshell and two children died in a semi-truck accident on Wednesday, March 20.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the crash happened at about 3:30 a.m. on Highway 93, off the 15 Freeway, north of Apex.
 
Nevada State Police said that a Hyundai Tucson traveled northbound on Highway 93. Then, for unknown reasons, it went into the southbound lane. It was directly into the path of a Freightliner tractor moving southbound, resulting in the crash.
 
The Clark County coroner’s office identified the driver as Hoenshell. They also identified the passengers as 3-year-old Phoenix Henley and 9-year-old Zaiden Grandon. All of them are from Henderson and died due to blunt force injuries sustained in the accident.
 
Nevada State Police closed Highway 93 for about 12 hours during the investigation.
