15-Year-Old Madilyn Peterson Fatally Struck in Henderson Scooter Accident

 
HENDERSON, NV (March 14, 2024) — A 15-year-old girl identified as Madilyn Peterson died in a motorized scooter crash on Monday, February 26.
 
According to Henderson Police, the crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. near Rivoli Street and Via Da Vinci, near Via Inspirada and Bicentennial Parkway.
 
Police said a gray SUV traveled westbound on Via Da Vinci. At the same time, Peterson was on a motorized scooter, crossing outside of a crosswalk. Then the SUV struck Peterson.
 
After that, emergency responders brought her to a hospital where she later died.
 
The Clark County Coroner’s Office then released her identity. They said she died from blunt force injuries and they ruled her death as an accident.
 
HPD said speed and impairment did not contribute as factors in the accident. It’s the seventh traffic-related death for Henderson in 2024.
 
Loved ones made a GoFundMe campaign for funeral expenses for Peterson’s family.
