Mackenzie Mitchell Identified in Fatal DUI Crash on 5 Freeway in Seattle
SEATTLE, WA (November 7, 2022) – Police identified Mackenzie Mitchell as the victim who died in a multi-vehicle crash on 5 Freeway on November 3.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at NE 130th Street shortly before 1:00 AM.
Based on a report, a vehicle was traveling on 130th prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, it drove off the roadway and through a construction. Then, it flew onto the freeway, slamming into three cars. Mitchell was a passenger in one of those cars.
As a result, Mitchell suffered severe injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported her to Harborview Medical Center, where she later died.
Officers arrested the driver of the car who caused the crash for driving under the influence and reckless driving.
As of now, an investigation is ongoing.
