Lucinda Cochran Killed after Pleasanton Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 97 and 37 Freeway

 
PLEASANTON, TX (March 20, 2024) — A 58-year-old woman identified as Lucinda McKennon Cochran, of Canyon Lake, died in an 18-wheeler crash on Wednesday, March 13.
 
According to Texas Department of Public Safety officials, the incident took place at the intersection of Highway 97 and 37 Freeway at about 9:20 a.m.
 
Texas DPS said troopers responded a Blue Honda Fit and an 18-wheeler collided. Officials said Cochran drove the Honda and disregarded a red light. It resulted in the truck tractor trailer hitting her.
 
Responding officers pronounced Cochran dead at the scene. Meanwhile, emergency responders brought the driver of the big rig to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Officials closed 37 Freeway until after 3 p.m. at the 113 mile-marker. In addition, they advised motorists to use alternate routes.
