Lorna Ozuna, Victor Espino-Diaz Die after Ephrata Crash on Highway 282 and Highway 17

 
EPHRATA, WA (June 4, 2024) — Two people, Lorna Villanueva Ozuna and Victor Espino-Diaz, died in a two-vehicle accident on Thursday, May 23.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol troopers, the accident took place on Highway 282 and Highway 17 junction at around 3:53 a.m.
 
WSP troopers said 25-year-old Lorna Villanueva Ozuna, of Moses Lake, drove a 2005 Chrysler 30 eastbound on Highway 282 approaching Highway 17. Then she crossed the centerline. After that, she crashed head-on into a black 2006 Ford F-150 driven by 53-year-old Victor Espino-Diaz, of Moses Lake.
 
Both vehicles came to a stop and blocked the roadway.
 
The two motorists suffered fatal injuries. Responding officers pronounced them dead at the scene.
 
It is not yet determined if both wore a seatbelt when the crash happened.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the exact cause of the accident.
