Bicyclist Killed, Lionel Salas Arrested in San Antonio Accident
SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 23, 2023) – Officers arrested 56-year-old Lionel Salas following a fatal bicycle accident on Castroville Road on August 3.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at South General McMullen around 9:30 PM. Based on a report, a man was riding his bike when a woman driving a truck hit him with her side mirror.
Subsequently, the man fell off his bike. Following the fall, Salas ran over the man and dragged his body into a nearby gas station.
As a result, police said the man sustained grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
Officers arrested Salas after he failed a sobriety test.
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
