Lenora Turnbull Dead after Gilbert Pedestrian Accident
GILBERT, AZ (January 28, 2025) — An 85-year-old woman, Lenora Turnbull, died after a pedestrian accident on Friday, January 17.
According to the Gilbert Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. at the Staff Sergeant Alexander W. Conrad Veterans Affairs Health Care Clinic near Val Vista Drive and Pecos Road.
Authorities reported that Turnbull and another person walked through the parking lot. Then Turnbull fell and a passing vehicle struck her. Emergency responders arrived and pronounced Turnbull dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics brought the second pedestrian to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries. However, details about how that individual sustained injuries remain unclear.
Investigators confirmed that the driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Gilbert Police continue to investigate the incident.
