Leif Chapin Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (May 24, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 34-year-old Leif Chapin who died in a scooter accident on 36th Street on May 20.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Thomas Road around 10:15 AM. Based on a report, Chapin was riding his scooter at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck him and left the scene.
 
As a result, Chapin suffered serious injuries in the incident. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died.
 
Police are now looking for the driver of the vehicle. They ask anyone with information to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTEGO) and provide an anonymous tip. As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
