Shelly Shears Accused of Intentionally Hitting Pedestrian Billy Stephens with Car in Casa Grande

 
CASA GRANDE, AZ (May 24, 2023) Casa Grande police identified 59-year-old Billy Stephens who died in an accident on Cottonwood Lane on May 20.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Pinal Avenue around 8:30 AM. Based on a report, Stephens was arguing with his girlfriend, 51-year-old Shelly Shears, prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, she allegedly hit him with her vehicle.
 
As a result, officers arrived and found Stephens lying near the road with severe injuries. He was flown to a Phoenix-area hospital, where he later died.
 
Police arrested and booked Shears into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
