Rider Fatally Injured after Stolen Motorcycle Crash in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (June 27, 2024) — A rider identified as 34-year-old Kyler Trapp died in a stolen motorcycle accident on Saturday, June 15.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan police officers, the crash took place on Alta Drive and Buffalo Drive at around 7:30 a.m.
 
LVMPD said Trapp rode a stolen 2021 Kawasaki motorcycle moved north on Buffalo Drive. At the same time, a 2002 Chevrolet Express van traveled south on Buffalo Drive in the left turn lane.
 
When the van turned left onto Alta Drive, the motorcycle reached the intersection. However, it failed to stop at the red light. The motorcycle struck the right side of the van. After that, it continued north and rolled over, ejecting the driver.
 
Responding officers pronounced Trapp dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the van stayed at the scene and did not display any signs of impairment.
 
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section handles the ongoing investigation of the collision.
 
Officials closed the intersection for over five hours after the incident.
