Kenneth Speers Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Highway 3 in Mason County

 
MASON COUNTY, WA (June 23, 2023) – Officials identified 35-year-old Kenneth Speers of Port Orchard who died in a DUI crash on Highway 3 on June 11.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened just past Grapeview shortly after 5:00 PM. Based on a report, Speers was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle north on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, 34-year-old Ryan Hess of Allyn crossed the center line and hit the victim with his Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV. The impact threw Speers from his motorcycle while Hess’ vehicle rolled over into the northbound lane and landed in a ditch.
 
As a result, Speers, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene,
 
The WSP arrested Hess on suspicion of vehicular homicide.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
