Danny Espinoza Arrested after Fatal Hit-and-Run on Broadway Avenue [Pueblo, CO]

PUEBLO, CO (June 23, 2023) – The Pueblo Police Department arrested 40-year-old Danny Espinoza after a fatal hit-and-run in the 200 block of Broadway Avenue on June 12.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened shortly after 4:00 PM. Based on a report, Espinoza was driving a Jeep on the roadway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he hit a pedestrian and tried to run from the scene.
 
As a result, the pedestrian died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
During a foot chase, officers caught Espinoza with the help of citizens who were able to detain him. They evaluated Espinoza for driving under the influence before booking him into Pueblo County Detention Center for Vehicular Homicide, Driving Under the Influence, Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death, and Careless Driving – Resulting in Death.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
