Wrong-Way Driver Kendra Nunez Involved in Crash on Highway 37 in Corpus Christi

 
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (September 5, 2024) – The Corpus Christi Police Department arrested 23-year-old Kendra Nunez following a multi-vehicle crash in the 7400 block of Highway 37 on August 18.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 10:10 PM. Based on a report, Nunez was driving a passenger car driving in the southbound lane of the highway prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, she struck a second passenger car in the left lane. The second car spun and was hit by another car. A fourth car then struck the third car.
 
As a result, three victims in the second vehicle sustained injuries in the pile-up. Emergency crews transported them to a local hospital for treatment. Police confirmed that a 74-year-old female passenger sustained serious injuries.
 
Nunez showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for intoxication assault with a vehicle. Crews took her to a local hospital for medical clearance before they transported her to the City Detention Center for booking.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
