Keila Oviedo Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 77 in Lyford

 
LYFORD, TX (October 2, 2022) – Police identified 29-year-old Keila Oviedo as the victim who died after getting struck by a vehicle on Highway 77 on September 25.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened south of the Cameron-Willacy county line around 5:23 AM.
 
Based on a report, Oviedo was driving alone in a white Buick Lacrosse when she left her lane and hit a guard rail, causing the Buick to spin and come to a stop in the middle of the highway. Subsequently, she got out of her wrecked car and was hit by a black Chevrolet Malibu.
 
Then, the driver of the Malibu got out to check on Oviedo but another car came, forcing him to jump off the road to avoid getting hit.
 
As a result, paramedics took Oviedo and the man to a local hospital. Oviedo later died due to severe injuries.
 
As of now, an investigation is underway. In addition, there are no other details available.
