YUBA CITY, CA (November 7, 2022) — 12-year-old Kavon Hedrick suffered multiple injuries after being caught up in a hit-and-run on C Street on Wednesday, November 2.

According to the Yuba City Police Department, the incident occurred near the Gauche Aquatic Park at around 12:25 p.m.

Authorities said Kavon met his cousin for lunch and left afterwards. He then traveled across the street when a vehicle collided into the child.

The force of impact inflicted harm to Kavon, who sustained a broken back, hip, ribs and ankle, among other injuries.

The involved driver fled the scene and was nowhere to be found.
