Katty Figueroa Identified in Lake Balboa Car Accident

 
LAKE BALBOA, CA (February 14, 2023) — Katty Figueroa and one other person died while another sustained injuries following a crash on Balboa Boulevard and Victory Boulevard early Wednesday, February 8.

The fatal incident involved a white Corvette and a Honda, according to the Los Angeles Police Department which received a report at about 3:45 a.m.

Authorities said the Corvette headed north on Balboa Boulevard when it failed to come to stop at a red light before crashing into the Honda, driven by 45-year-old Figueroa.

The force of impact destroyed the Corvette in half while the Honda ended up ramming into a large sign from the shopping plaza.

Figueroa died at the scene.

The male driver of the Corvette and his female passenger were transported to a hospital.

However, the male driver died at a hospital, according to the coroner’s office and the LAPD. Information on his identity was not available for release by authorities.

It has been reported that the Corvette ran a speed of 90 to 100 miles per hour.

No additional information is available at this time as investigation is still ongoing.
