BENTON COUNTY, WA (January 6, 2025) — Katrina Sifuentez and three others were hurt after a car accident on Tuesday, December 24.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred at about 8:15 a.m. on 82 Freeway, just outside Kennewick.
 
WSP said Sifuentez drove westbound on 82 Freeway. Then she fell asleep while driving and struck another car just outside of Kennewick city limits.
 
Six people, including four children ranging from 7 to 15 years old, were inside the vehicle.
 
Sifuentez, the other adult, a 7-year-old, and 12-year-old sustained injuries in the incident. A private party brought them to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. The extent of their conditions is not immediately available.
 
The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt in the collision.
 
WSP determined inattention caused the crash. Sifuentez faces a charge of second-degree negligent driving and driving without insurance.
