71-Year-Old Kathryn Kannely Identified in Fatal Royal City Crash
ROYAL CITY, WA (December 13, 2022) – Police identified 71-year-old Kathryn Kannely as the victim who died in a head-on crash on Highway 26 on December 8.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near milepost 27 around 2:15 PM. Based on a report, Kannely was driving a 2018 Toyota Prius on the westbound lane of the highway at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
Subsequently, she lost control and hit a 2004 Cadillac SRX head-on.
As a result, Kannely died at the scene.
The driver of the Cadillac, 23-year-old Casandra Espinoza Mendoza, was not hurt.
They do not believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. As of now, the investigation into the case remains ongoing.
