Kathleen Sanchez Injured in DUI Crash on Highway 2 near Highway 97 in Wenatchee

 
WENATCHEE, WA (June 19, 2023) – Officials identified 67-year-old Kathleen Sanchez of Omak who suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 2 on June 16.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Highway 97 shortly before 10:30 AM. Based on a report, 39-year-old Danielle Wood was on Highway 97 when she struck the guardrail.
 
Subsequently, she turned around to head back in the opposite direction. As she passed another vehicle going in the same direction, Wood collided with Sanchez’s car, causing it to go off-road, crashing into an orchard. Wood fled the scene after the accident.
 
As a result, Sanchez was hurt and transported to Central Washington Hospital for treatment.
 
Troopers found Wood in the 3700 block of NW Cascade St. in East Wenatchee. They will charge him with felony hit-and-run and DUI.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
