Texas Deputy Constable Katherine Hutson, Daughter Kacey Hutson Identified in Fatal Houston Crash

 
HOUSTON, TX (December 3, 2024) – The Houston Police Department identified Texas Deputy Constable Katherine Hutson and her 7-year-old daughter, who died in a crash on 10 Freeway on November 22.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at 610 Freeway West Loop around 3:07 AM. Based on a report, a Mazda crashed into the car of the 46-year-old Harris County Precinct 5 deputy.
 
The vehicle also hit a utility truck parked on the shoulder. Subsequently, all three cars instantly burst into flames.
 
As a result, Hutson and her daughter Kacey suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
HPD said crews transported a worker who was standing outside of the utility truck to the hospital in stable condition with burns. They also rushed a female passenger in the Mazda to the hospital.
 
Investigators said the driver of the Mazda was not hurt and stayed at the scene to cooperate with investigators. They ran toxicology and DWI tests and determined the suspect to be impaired.
 
The Houston Police Department is investigating the crash.
