Katelyn Hackenberg Injured in Longview Accident on Washington Way
LONGVIEW, WA (September 3, 2024) — A 21-year-old Rainier woman identified as Katelyn Hackenberg died in an accident on Friday, August 23.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash took place on Washington Way near Industrial Way at about 4:30 p.m.
WSP said Hackenberg drove southbound on Washington Way near Fei’s Carriage & Lounge. Then a Ford pickup driven by 32-year-old Austin J. Maygra hit Hackenberg’s vehicle.
The press memo said Maygra did not obey the traffic signal.
Paramedics transported Hackenberg to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview with injuries. Her vehicle was also totally damaged.
Maygra did not sustain any injuries in the accident.
Officials said drugs and alcohol did not contribute to the accident.
