EL RIO, CA (February 21, 2025) – A juvenile riding a bicycle sustained injuries following a crash on Alvarado Street and Helsam Avenue on Monday afternoon, February 17.

The incident occurred at around 1:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officials stated that a child, described to be 10 to 13 years of age, had been riding a bicycle without a helmet while heading east on Alvarado Street.

A black Kia Optima traveling northbound on Helsam Avenue then figured in a collision with the bicyclist at the intersection.

The accident left the juvenile with lacerations to his head and eye. This prompted respondents to conduct a medical transport to a local hospital for treatment.
