Julie Maldonado Dead and Kenneth Polk Arrested after Grand Prairie Motorcycle Accident

 
GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (September 3, 2024) — A 43-year-old woman, Julie Maldonado, died in a motorcycle accident on Friday, August 23.
 
According to the Arlington Police, the accident occurred near the intersection of South Watson Road and Webb Lynn Road at about 11:00 p.m.
 
Arlington Police said Maldonado, and her boyfriend, Damien Espinoza, were on the way home after a motorcycle meet with friends. They stopped at a red light in Arlington.
 
Then 22-year-old Kenneth Polk ran the red light. He stuck Maldonado before fleeing from the scene.
 
Emergency responders brought Maldonado to the hospital for treatment. A GoFundMe set up by her daughter, Yarielis Vazquez, said she died on Saturday.
 
According to Maldonado’s family, she wore all her motorcycling gear and a helmet when the accident happened. They said they hope the story of her death keeps others from driving under the influence.
 
Meanwhile, officers later arrested and charged Polk with intoxication manslaughter and collision involving death. Online Jail records show that authorities held Polk on bonds totaling $450,000.
