Juan Torres Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on US 84

 
TAYLOR, TX (October 5, 2022) – A fiery crash between a car and truck on US 84 killed a driver around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred on Highway 84 just north of Lawn. A pickup truck was stopped in the inside southbound lane of the highway without any lights, according to reports.

The driver was identified as 57-year-old Juan Torres of Lawn.

After that, an oncoming vehicle did not see Torres and struck the pickup. Both of the vehicles caught fire due to the impact, reports say.

Torres succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene, Texas DPS confirmed.

The other driver sustained serious injuries. She was transported to the hospital for treatment and is now in stable condition.

The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time. Further details regarding the crash are not released.
